LIFE DOES GET HARD
Some time ago, a M.D. friend of mine and I hiked up to the top of one of the mountains in the Santa Lucia Range. The mountain is some 35 miles west King City, California. (Where is King City? It is half way between San Francisco and L.A.) There were times when the 5,500 foot peak seemed to get farther and farther away. And while we were able to drive almost to the top, the several hour hike was taxing our endurance. I remember on another occasion I had to track through a light snow fall - that was a cool experience! But, bottom line/ "top line" was, we did make it, but it was by persistence and not giving up. Once on top we were able to enjoy our lunch we brought.
Another benefit was that as we took that break and dangled our feet over a rock, we were able to enjoy the most breath taking view of the Pacific Ocean. All the "huffing and puffing" at times was well worth it.
I don't have to remind you that at times (and for some there are many times) life does get hard. It appears to be an uphill climb. There are experiences - much like the snow that slowed us down. Life's climb is hard, it is steep and sometimes it takes all the strength that one can muster up to keep on "keeping on". But my friend, here is the good news.
I CAN DO ALL THINGS THROUGH JESUS WHO GIVES ME STRENGTH. This is the Word of God. (Phil. 4:13)
My desire and prayer for you, my dear reader...
Amen
