I also once found a baseball card, but, naturally, I prefer the money. But even though I have made some finds, I must keep a level head and not always look down.
I heard of a young man who once found a $2.00 bill. In America they are not as plentiful as they once were years ago. From that time on this guy never lifted his eyes from the ground when walking. Through the years he kept everything he found. In the course of 40 years he accumulated 29,516 buttons, 54,172 pins, 7 cents in pennies, a bent back and a miserly disposition.
My "find" in that story is simply this. This guy lost the glory of the sunlight, he lost the smiles of friends, he lost the beauty of the sky, the birds and, actually, all there is in life to live for.
Now while this individual geared himself to this looking down, there is a flip side. Some individuals are looking down because of what
they have experience, i.e. a failure, a disappointment, a setback or some situation. "The poor me" attitude shows. Now, for them I love this from the Word of God (Psalm 24:7,9) "Lift up your heads...and the King of glory will come in." It continues, "Who is this King of Glory? The Lord Almighty, he is the King of glory." Lifting up the head (literally) does wonder for the soul and the physical body (expecially the back). It works. Right now, invite the King of Glory to come in and
help you. He is only a request away!
Let's pray
I ask, Lord, that you bless this on-line caller. May they lift up their eyes to the hills. Regardless of their situation, be it minor or major, their help is in the Lord. In lifting their spiritual eyes, may they behold you IN their life. In the name of Jesus.
Amen
